Sunday School Project 2006

This year our Project is called Yes! Tak! Da!   Why such a strange name for a Project?  The answer is quite simple – Tak is Ukrainian for Yes and Da is the same in Russian.  In other words, alongside Scripture Union we will be helping children and young people in Ukraine and Russia to say Yes!  Tak! Da! to Jesus.

Over the past few years the money raised was always divided between a home cause and an overseas cause.  This year we are totally concentrating on the overseas cause.

We want to help to fix up two centres for children and young people – one in Ukraine and the other in Russia.

In the Ukraine – Vorzel campsite, 40 Kms. From Kiev, we want to help to demolish and existing store on site, build a new multi-purpose sports hall and thus make the camp site more useful for all the groups that benefit greatly from the extensive programme run by Scripture Union.  In Russia – St. Petersburg we want to help to build a camp and retreat centre that can be used by children and young people all year round.  This centre hopefully will reach out to many street kids and other young people in St Petersburg, helping them to avoid HIV and AIDS infection through education, example and the creation of a safe place for them.

This year the Sunday School hopes to support the Project by selling Fireside Quiz Sheets to your family and friends. As an extra incentive the family who sells the most quiz sheets will receive an Easter Egg.  Last year’s Project was very successful and we hope with your help this year’s will be similar.

Choir

At First Kilraughts we have a good strong choir, and visitors often comment on this and the high standard and variety of music. The congregation are deeply indebted to our organist Maurice Christie for the talents he places at the disposal of our congregation in the worship and service of the Lord.

While the choir at First Kilraughts is of good strength for the size of the congregation there is always a welcome for more voices - especially men!

Contact here. Maurice Christie

Our creche at 1st Kilraughts is a happy and safe environment where parents can leave babies and small children to play and be looked after while they worship during the service.
